Matter can neither be created nor destroyed

We're all aware of the laws of conservation of matter and energy; it can neither be created nor destroyed, it only changes forms. If the scientists of the world are given the task of either creating matter from scratch or destroying it in a way that it completely perishes, they wont be able to do so. It is only Allah Who is capable of the task Who created Matter in the first place and will annihilate it when time comes.

Imam Ali a.s discusses this law in Nahjul Balagha much earlier than the world discovers it.

"HE can destroy things created by Him in such a way that they will cease to exist and disappear into nonentity. To annihilate the total universe, after having once created it, is not more amazing and difficult for Him than the original creation out of nothing. If all the animate and inanimate creatures join their forces to create a mosquito they shall not succeed to do so. Similar will be their helplessness if they want to exterminate a thing out of the Universe" (Nahjul Balagha-Askari Jafari's translation, sermon 191)
